A Fal receiver. In other news, a hunk of metal is so dangerous it requires a locked case and a trigger lock, even though it has no trigger. Ah, good ol’ reasonable MD gun laws.

I knew a guy by the name of Jim Barr at Kickapoo Gun Shop in East Texas who built up Marlin Camp Carbines with a proprietary suppressor, mostly for the E.Tx. Drug Task Force. I got an opportunity to see and shoot one many years ago out back of his shop, along with his suppressed Ruger Mk. II conversion. The only sound it really made was the ‘whuff’ of that 230 gr. .45ACP going off and the thump it made in the big oak tree 50 yards down the hill. It did make a little clacky noise when the bolt hit the back of the receiver and I suggested he invest in a little Sorbothane to cushion that away…this was in the pre-commercial buffer days.
I wonder if he’s still around?

Rabbit.
