Fred’s out
“Today I have withdrawn my candidacy for President of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort. Jeri and I will always be grateful for the encouragement and friendship of so many wonderful people.”

Rudy’s turn next?
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Now I get to re-evaluate if I’m going to vote at all. Some blogger said “I’m sick of choosing between the lesser of two evils,” so I think i’m going that route and not putting my stamp of approval on anyone. A choice between a liberal and a pro-life liberal is not choice at all.

Uncle… Help me spread this message:
Gun owners, we have been taken for granted by the GOP long enough. They KNOW we will vote for whatever schmuck they trot out, because we would never vote for the Democrat.
Not this time.
This year, vote third party. I don’t care which third party, either. This is not a Ron Paul plug.
Vote Paul, vote Libertarian, vote Green, vote Reform, vote Cylon, vote Scientologist.
Just don’t waste your vote on Mitt, Rudy, Huck, McCain, Hilary, Obama, or Edwards.
Don’t sit at home, either.
Tell the GOP that we, the gunowners, will not be taken advantage of again. If they want our support in 2010, then they best get a pro-gunner on the stump.

It figures. I donate some money, and he drops out of the race 90 minutes later.

We hope Rudi is Next fo go: The three current “have a chance” Republican contenders include, Rudy “I Helped Bill Clinton Pass Gun Laws!” Giuliani; John “close the Gun Show Loopholes ” McCain; and Mitt “Lifelong Hunter” Romney — all three with anti gun credentials, their views are the public record.
On the Democratic side, we have a choice between rock star Barack “Ban Everything” Obama and Hillary “Ban Everything” Clinton, Edwards “I’ll pass any stupid gun law I can”

Political parties cannot “learn”.
The party will pimp who ever has the best machine inside the party.
If you want a pro-gun Presidential nomination, then you need to get involved in your own local precinct, and actually join the party … as opposed to just registering as an “R” with the state.
If a Socialist gets the presidency, we will get Clinton or Obama SCOTUS or federal judge appointees.
Don’t sit this one out. Vote for the lesser evil, and then get involved in your party, instead of complaining about not being represented.
The Nominee represents those that are most active in the party … if you aren’t active, or are never planning on becoming active, then why would ANY political party care what you think?

I’d hate to be the last person to donate to Fred the day before he dropped out the race. Now I have no clue who I will vote for in the primaries.
Might as well vote dem, since they will win anyway. Maybe our new overlords will remember my vote as a mark of ‘loyalty.”

The GOP is dead. R.I.P.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:03 pm
A sad day, we are left with Democrats(R) on one side, and Socialists(D) on the other. Prepare for the Constitution to be beaten and raped for another 4 years.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:19 pm
I voted for the Lesser Evil and got Swarzennegger – who banned .50 BMGs, lead ammo, and instituted the psychic phrenology of Micro-Stamping despite all the letters I wrote and support I gave. Screw me once…

Don’t give in.
If it gets down to violence, you are going to regret sitting out the 08 election.
Hold yer damned nose and vote AGAINST Hillary.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:11 pm
DirtCrasher, you should have done what I did: vote for Schwarzenegger, and then get the hell out of California.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:23 pm
I am the Kiss of Death.
I supported Fred and Hunter and they both drop out.
I’m voting None of the Above.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:37 pm
Now there is positively only one conservative left: Ron Paul.
Re:voting for the lessor of two evils. If two criminals come to your house, and one says. “I want to rape and kill your wife,” and the other says, “I only want to rape your wife – I won’t kill her,” do you choose the second man to do his bidding? Or do you make the right choice and fight back?
You saw what happened when the lessor evil was chosen – we are now into full inflationary recession, i.e. stagflation. The immigration problem is worse, and so is the deficit. Don’t choose the lessor evil, choose a man who believes what you believes, and who cares about this country and not just his bank account. That man is Ron Paul.

I can’t get the hell out of CA until my wife retires, besides We need CHANGE the most of all the States – real change, not Obama-change… First we evict everybody from Massachussettes and New York who came here, then the Illegals — that would get rid of Boxer and Pelosi, and most of the Aparatchicks in the Central Committee.
Political parties may not be able to be able to “learn” – so what’s their f*#@ing point then? If they cannot “learn,” they can still be punished or even destroyed.
January 23rd, 2008 at 2:07 pm
Well, That narrows my choice down to one, Ron Paul. All the rest are the worse pack of crooks this side of a prison cell.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:24 pm

Well, it depends on what the likely outcome is, now doesn’t it? If fighting back results in you and your wife both getting raped and killed, what, exactly, have you accomplished?
I’m an avowed progressive, but I agree with Kristopher. Get involved, or shut up. Don’t just whine about how bad the choices are.

I’ll third that.
