Liver cancer got my dad in his 50s, and that one isn’t terribly pretty either. On one hand, I’m glad I got more time with him. But, in retrospect, I’d prefer to have had him go quickly and unexpectedly to having to watch him wither away over several months.
I am thankful that the leading killer of both men and women remains one of the faster ways to go: heart disease.

Been there. My mother died of breast cancer when I was 20.
