Drop outs
Having suffered through the trenches of this America, Edwards is taking his hair and going back to his America. He didn’t endorse which is a way of saying Can I be your Veep? This came as a shock to no one but Edwards, who was unavailable for comment because he was out of breath from chasing an ambulance.
9iu11iani is also leaving. Not running a campaign in most states isn’t effective? Who knew? In other news, he, as an authoritarian prick, will reportedly endorse the other authoritarian prick: John McCain.
Update: Bwahahaha:
I still like McCain more than Romney, although I like being kicked in the nuts more than I like either of them.
Dunno about that, but that’s because mine are still achy.
Update 2: The good news about 9iu11iani’s drop out is that I hope it indicates that most of America won’t elect NY Mayors.

I’m afraid to say it, but I’m jumping on the Paul bandwagon. It’s really an anti whoever else the GOP is running bandwagon, since I refuse to actually cast a vote for a gun-grabber.
Hopefully this will “send a message” if enough of us do it.
Probably just wishful thinking, but what the hell else are we supposed to do???

So sad for the Haircut. Now it’s time to build Habitat house with Jimmah.
January 30th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
I could live with McCain, too. Romney reminds me of another rich guy from Massachussets with nice hair whom the Democrats picked because he was *electable*.
January 30th, 2008 at 4:20 pm
Edwards might not be saying Can I be your veep, but rather Can I be your AG?
January 30th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Q&O is calling it a McCain/Huckabee ticket. I think I would rather have a Democrat, so at least the right people get blamed. The administration will be the same.
January 30th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Maybe we’ll get lucky and Teddy Kennedy will take Obama and Hillary for a ride in his car…
January 30th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Maybe we will get lucky and Teddy will rent a bus and every damned one of them can go for a ride.
For the life of me I cannot figure out why a Democrat would be disappointed with McCain as President.
January 30th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
McCain??!!
Oh yeah, he and his cohort Joe Lieberman worked to “close the gunshow loopsholes”–legislation which would’ve had the effect of closing down gunshows. He’s anti-2nd Amendment as it is READ IN PLAIN ENGLISH.
Then he conspired with another far left Senate buddy to bring about McCain-Feingold. Eliminate the excess money they claimed, but it was a flagrant attack on the First Amendment if you weren’t in the establishment two-party, media corporation loop.
More recently, McCain conspired with Ted Kennedy, Jorge W. Bush, the National Council of La Raza (The Race) and Hillary Clinton to legalize the invasion of our country. it was slappped down by the American people and NOW, John says he’s repented of his long time support of open border….ah-huh.
Oh, hey, speaking of Hillary, you say we gotta vote for John to stop another CFR globalist traitor, Clinton. Well, just days ago, even Ol’ Bill Clinton himself admits…yes “they laugh” about it he says, that Hillary and John McCain “are very close”. Go ahead, check it out in this short video clip:

McCain?? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!

At least now Edwards will have plenty of time to distribute his wealth amongst the poor, like he wanted to do with mine.

Tell me the difference in policy positions between Mccain and Hilary. Answer = 0.

I am not a political scientist. I can’t make predictions based on polls, pundits, or primaries.
I do, like a lot of people, know what I like when I see it.
I’m a guy interested in the sweet spot of Jacksonian ideology – the 2nd Amendment. How anybody, professed liberal or right-wing death beast, feels about the right of the individual to own guns is enough to tell you how they will react when the chips are down on all the subjects that matter.
Neither Romney, McCain, The Hildibeast, nor Obama are worthy of trust on the 2nd. The latter two make gun grabbing a platform plank, and the former two are gun-grabbers by their statements and past deeds, no matter what they say now.

The absolute best we can get out of this election is a big-government RINO to the left of Bush (who lost his conservative street cred years ago), and the worst is a flat-out socialist. The last time this happened to me I voted for Perot and got the embarrassing slick Willie for 8 years.
I will not vote for McCain….even if it’s McCain-Rudy as the ticket. If it’s McCain-Huckabee I’ll vote for Hillary-Obama to be able to blame the resulting 4 years of pain on a true socialist instead of a democrat masquerading as a Republican.
…or I’ll just write in Duncan Hunter or Fred Thompson.
In other words, from the point of view of a gun guy, I’ve lost already…no matter what happens in November.
Buy guns. Get at least one pistol and one rifle in the next nine months. With the candidates we have left, regardless who wins…the 2nd Amendment is in jeopardy.

“A conservative is a man who is too cowardly to fight and too fat to run.”
Trainer – I’ll rest assured that I can depend on a forum warrior like yourself to defend my rights and life when the government comes for the guns -just like all the forum warriors did in Kalifornia when all the AR-15s were taken.
The most populous state in the nation is undergoing complete confiscation and you’re telling me to buy a fucking pistol? Please.
The day will come when the posting will stop momentarily while all the forum warriors stand in line to turn in their guns and ammo to be melted down.
You’re going to give up your cush job, 401k, bennies, and SUV to take a stand with your life? You think you know what it takes to fight? It’s about 1% guns and 99% stamina. If you really want to do something useful take your ass to the gym. But no – all the forum warriors are too busy fantasizing about an epic struggle they will never participate in. Might as well write some star-trek fan fiction.
Kiss my ass all you pussies who will end up voting for McAnus or Shit. You’re just like the geeks in high school who play computer games all weekend while the cool kids drink and get laid – making excuses for your pathetic lives because you’re too scared and worthless to take on chance on living life. Don’t you fucking scold me you weak little sellouts, when I vote for Ron Paul because he has principles – the very principles you all purport to have.
Or you can be men, and man-up to your mistakes and say I will stand up and say and do what is right and what I believe in. Take ownership of what you did wrong and use that embarrassment to the betterment of yourselves. isn’t that was conservatism is about – doing the right thing?
I will buy some more ammo, and I will focus on my front sight, and I will use cover. I will vote for Ron Paul. I will do what is right.

HardCorps,
Good stuff! Voting FOR Ron Paul.
The “lesser of two evils” is EVIL!
Without Ron Paul in the General Election I’ll find someone to vote FOR. As in the last election, I didn’t make the same mistake by reluctantly voting for Bush in 2000. I voted FOR the Constitution Party candiate and will do so again…without a Republican like Ron Paul.
January 31st, 2008 at 10:55 am
‘forum warrior’? First time I’ve been called that. Can’t say I think that post of mine deserves that tag. Not that fat either. I guess my scars are virtual too.
Ron Paul, eh!. That says it all.
…and no, I won’t vote for McCain. Ron Paul, equally, has not impressed me in the slightest, altho he might make a good leader for the Branch Davidians.

Is your head really that far up where the sun doesn’t shine?
Iraq: McCain supports expanding troop deployments in Iraq; Clinton supports phased redeployment, with troops to start leaving Iraq “within days” of taking office.
Health Care: McCain supports market-based health care solutions with private competition, the elimination of employer-sponsored health care plans, and a $2,500 tax credit toward the purchase of private insurance. Clinton supports a massive expansion of government-paid coverage, and increased regulation of private health insurance providers.
Energy/Environment: McCain supports an expansion of nuclear power capacity, while Clinton supports a cap-and-trade system on carbon emissions.
Guns: McCain supports protecting gunmakers from liability lawsuits, as well as the repeal of the DC gun ban, and opposes an “Assault Weapons” Ban. Clinton has no stated policy on gun control issues, but it’s doubtful it would match McCain’s.
But these amount to “zero” policy differences? Come on, that’s idiotic.
January 31st, 2008 at 4:54 pm
tgirsch,
You say that McCain opposes the AWB (actually semi-auto weapons ban)? Do you have some info on that…maybe a link that shows how he voted on its renewal in the Senate back in 2004? I think the Senate voted for it, but the House leadership then didn’t bring it to a vote thus letting it “sunset”–even though GWB was willing to sign it.

trainer,
I doubt if Ron Paul shares the theology of the Branch Davidians, but I think that because he has and would keep his oath to the Constitution and Bill of Rights, he would never have used the military to surround and burn them to death. (And what were their crimes that supposedly deserved such??)
Read here what Ron Paul says about his own beliefs:
Statement of Faith
——————————————————————————–
By Rep. Ron Paul, MD.
——————————————————————————–
July 21, 2007
——————————————————————————–
We live in times of great uncertainty when men of faith must stand up for our values and our traditions lest they be washed away in a sea of fear and relativism. As you likely know, I am running for President of the United States, and I am asking for your support.
I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do. I know, as you do, that our freedoms come not from man, but from God. My record of public service reflects my reverence for the Natural Rights with which we have been endowed by a loving Creator.
I have worked tirelessly to defend and restore those rights for all Americans, born and unborn alike. The right of an innocent, unborn child to life is at the heart of the American ideal of liberty. My professional and legislative record demonstrates my strong commitment to this pro-life principle.
In 40 years of medical practice, I never once considered performing an abortion, nor did I ever find abortion necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman. In Congress, I have authored legislation that seeks to define life as beginning at conception, H.R. 1094. I am also the prime sponsor of H.R. 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic and has caused the deaths of 45 million of the unborn. I have also authored H.R. 1095, which prevents federal funds to be used for so-called “population control.” Many talk about being pro-life. I have taken and will continue to advocate direct action to restore protection for the unborn.
I have also acted to protect the lives of Americans by my adherence to the doctrine of “just war.” This doctrine, as articulated by Augustine, suggested that war must only be waged as a last resort— for a discernible moral and public good, with the right intentions, vetted through established legal authorities (a constitutionally required declaration of the Congress), and with a likely probability of success.
It has been and remains my firm belief that the current United Nations-mandated, no-win police action in Iraq fails to meet the high moral threshold required to wage just war. That is why I have offered moral and practical opposition to the invasion, occupation and social engineering police exercise now underway in Iraq. It is my belief, borne out by five years of abject failure and tens of thousands of lost lives, that the Iraq operation has been a dangerous diversion from the rightful and appropriate focus of our efforts to bring to justice to the jihadists that have attacked us and seek still to undermine our nation, our values, and our way of life.
I opposed giving the president power to wage unlimited and unchecked aggression, However, I did vote to support the use of force in Afghanistan. I also authored H.R. 3076, the September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001. A letter of marque and reprisal is a constitutional tool specifically designed to give the president the authority to respond with appropriate force to those non-state actors who wage aggression against the United States while limiting his authority to only those responsible for the atrocities of that day. Such a limited authorization is consistent with the doctrine of just war and the practical aim of keeping Americans safe while minimizing the costs in blood and treasure of waging such an operation.
On September 17, 2001, I stated on the house floor that “…striking out at six or eight or even ten different countries could well expand this war of which we wanted no part. Without defining the enemy there is no way to know our precise goal or to know when the war is over. Inadvertently more casual acceptance of civilian deaths as part of this war I’m certain will prolong the agony and increase the chances of even more American casualties. We must guard against this if at all possible.” I’m sorry to say that history has proven this to be true.
I am running for president to restore the rule of law and to stand up for our divinely inspired Constitution. I have never voted for legislation that is not specifically authorized by the Constitution. As president, I will never sign a piece of legislation, nor use the power of the executive, in a manner inconsistent with the limitations that the founders envisioned.
Many have given up on America as an exemplar for the world, as a model of freedom, self-government, and self-control. I have not. There is hope for America. I ask you to join me, and to be a part of it.
Sincerely,
Ron Paul

I did something unpleasant today. I voted. Against Hillary.
