It’s not just you
Is it just me, or were the Daily Show and the Colbert Report better without writers?
I concur. Well, on The Daily Show. I don’t watch Colbert anymore.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

I concur.
I stopped watching the Daily Show because the writers seemed to think that bashing Bush was a punchline to almost every story, even when the story had nothing remotely to do with Bush.
The show turned into “something happened” and “Bush is an idiot”. After a while that theme got old… exept to the audience in NYC who all seem to suffer from BDS.
Without the writers the show seems to be back to its earlier form that made fun of everyone. I enjoy that much more.
(note that I am not happy with Bush, but I do know that not all of the worlds problems stem from him being president as those writers seemed to think)

Conan O’brien seemed funnier without writers as well…
