Well, they tried to warn you

Look at the signs!

Seriously though, the dogs had a history of attacking people and it’s owners like that who give the owners of other politically incorrect dogs a bad name.

Bet the low seniority guy got that gig.

Say what you will, those dogs need a damn good killin’

    SA,
I rarely disagree with you, but horsepucky. We have no idea what happened earlier. If the smaller animal entered the pit bulls’ yard then responsibility lies with the neighbor. We also don’t know what happened with the 15 year old.

Look, if you show up on my doorstep to kill my dogs, well I ain’t gonna be happy and I ain’t gonna help you.

If my dog runs through my front door to bite a man knocking on it, I will kill the sonofabitch myself.

I have had many dogs, most are territorial enough to bark and warn strangers away. Some aren’t even that aggressive, they will bark and then lick you to death. Shit, even UPS isn’t afraid to step out of their vans at my place. Currently we have a saddle dog, yeah, I know, but he is sweet even if he is expensive to feed. I’m thinking about roping off him this spring if I can get in shape.

Seriously, I had a dog that I really liked, and one who liked everybody in the family. Unfortunately we lived near a school where very small children walked by everyday. I had several close calls keeping him from eating those children. I couldn’t find him a home where he wasnt’ exposed to strangers, I couldn’t train him out of it. And he defeated every restraint system I tried. I shot him.

I didn’t like it. But I did it. He needed a damn good killin’. I really liked the damn dog, but not enough to let him kill a five or six year old child.

Having said that, I may have given him more leeway as regards adults, but if he had attacked one, the outcome would have been the same.

I didn’t make a judgment based on their killing of the other dog, because as you said, I don’t know how that went down. The 15 year old, unless I knew for sure he was mistreating the dogs and earned a biting, the outcome would have been the same. Not knowing how that went down, I can’t say for sure. But I know they broke through the door and attacked. ergo, they needed killing.

The agent followed the instructions on the door to knock, and a fat lot of good that did him.

The last sign asked visitors to knock and wait for the owner to shut her dogs up. The dogcatcher knocked, and the dogs broke the door down to get him. Not his fault.

I do wonder if there had been signs before that the door wasn’t sufficient to hold those particular dogs? Or did they somehow sense a greater threat from this one visitor?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
