OH, great! Just LAW ABIDING citizens! Super! Now, how do we make sure that only LAW ABIDING citizens are carrying weapons in the parks?
And how do we make sure LAW ABIDING citizens always use their weapons responsibly, and only for self-defense?

you can’t. deal with it. but it’s comforting that LAW ABIDING citizens won’t be arrested for it. I’m more concerned about the folks who don’t abide by the law who won’t follow the rules anyway.

@Southern Beale:
Refer to the charter for the Federal government; you will find that it is not within the purview of the Federal government to “permit” or to _deny_ the carrying of weapons in National Parks. You have to stretch things a bit to find it within its purview to even have National Parks.
As to the concern that said arms to used “only for self-dense”, how about only punishing people for the wrong they do and not that which they have the capability to do but have not actually done?
