So, two university administrators are sitting around smoking weed
one says to the other: I have an idea.
The other one says: What’s that?
The first one says: Let’s have a drill where someone takes a classroom hostage.
The other one says: That’s cool
The first one says: Only, let’s not tell everyone that it’s a drill.

If they pulled that in my college classroom, he’d be leaving in a body bag.
His blood would be on their hands, and what would they do? Prosecute me?

Actually the best drills are ones in which people don’t know it is a drill at the begininng. In this case however, I am suprised that the actor is still alive.

I was wondering the same thing. They put many lives at risk and this could have ended very badly.
A student would be totally justified in shooting this guy even if the weapon is being carried illegally (not saying it is illegal here – I have no idea).

What if some kid in that class brained the guy with a chair? I’d say the drill was a total success. Sorry ’bout that vegetative state thing, pal.

After the lawsuits, this school will be student-owned.

“For 12 minutes, students lined up against the wall, and one began praying.”
Helplessly waiting to die.
“It was never our intention to frighten or scare anyone,” said Brown. “It’s really to test the security measures and make faculty and students feel safe.”
With a 12 minute response time I’m sure that the students feel real safe eh? How much carnage could a REAL gunman have done in that time?

Some one please tell me what the training purpose was in terrorizing the students? The drill was to test the campus police response (a long 12 minutes). Terrorizing the kids was what, bonus? This is what happens when you let idiots who need training run the training. Where were the safety monitors? Where were the checks to see that no one took lethal action against a perceived threat?
How about a simple, “Hello, I’m with the campus police, we are conducting a drill, for the next few minutes you are hostages, please relax as you are in no danger. This weapon is a training mockup and is not a functional firearm.”
Training must be conducted in a controlled environment lest someone react to what they perceive as a real threat with defensive moves, stroke out due to being terrorized or jump out a window. You train as you fight which means someone has to intervene to prevent the full lethal or injurious response or it isn’t training anymore it’s real.

Yeah, just try this at Texas A&M or any one of hundreds of rural Texas high schools and see who comes out of the classroom intact.
That shit doesn’t wash down here. Somebody is gonna have to get a student desk surgically removed with a colonoscope and a pair of pliers.
Regards,
Rabbit.

Not cool. ‘Cause some of us just refuse to go unarmed.
