I’ve always wondered why there isn’t any sort of “drop-in” carbine in which a pistol is dropped into a rifle stock with long barrel.

(Ignoring the legal questions, I’d guess linking two separate barrels together might be too difficult. Unless you had some sort of threaded barrel…)

I’m reminded of the oak tree felled at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse during the Civil War. Took a little longer than 45 seconds, but nobody had a minigun, either.

I’m reminded of the oak tree felled at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse during the Civil War. Took a little longer than 45 seconds, but nobody had a minigun, either.

I believe that tree was about 3 feet in diameter. I believe that the trunk, or what’s left of it, is on display in the Smithsonian and that the stump is still there. That’s a pretty good indicator of the volume of rifle fire that came from the Union troops.
