When seconds count
A woman was asking a 911 dispatcher for help when her pleas were interrupted by gunshots, then silence. She was shot to death.
The woman told the dispatcher someone was trying to break into her home in upscale West Covina, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Dan Rosenberg said. “Deputies heard gunshots followed by silence and an open phone line,” he said.

One news item said the woman and her husband had installed video cameras and a sign saying they were recording to aid in the solution of crimes.
Apparently whoever shot her did not suffer from stage fright, and while the cameras may help solve her murder, they did not help a whit towards preventing her murder.

Yeah, but wasn’t she noble? She didn’t cause needless harm to the poor victim of society who killed her. Ca. encourages that kind of thing, you know. Nobility of the Damned, I think is the name of the program.
