Security Theater
Look out, she may have a bomb on those nips:
A Texas woman who claims she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane called Thursday for an apology by federal security agents and a civil rights investigation.
Pliers? Ouch.

given how common nipple rings have got these days, they’re bound to turn up fairly often in the security lanes. and given that, it’s kinda hard to see how this wasn’t harrassment of some sort or other.
unless maybe this was the one woman walking around wearing the ten-pound nipple ring of Doom(tm), perhaps. but i’d tend to think sexual harrassment by some petty jackboot is the more common occurrence, and the more likely explanation.

Methinks it would be safer to leave the pin in…

I wonder what she looks like. This could be the standard beautiful woman stripdown.

I don’t know, you know you can put an eye out with one of those things…

The TSA stops a lot of desperate terrorists every day by doing things like making them put shampoo in a ziplock and taking out their nipple rings.
Don’t you want to be safe or are you a desperate terrorist troublemaker?

“I’ma call a coupla hard, pipe-hittin’ niggers, who’ll go to work on the homes here with a pair of pliers and a blow torch”
