Well, it’s not quite as bad as it sounds. Almost, but not quite. This law passed a year or two back. Okay, my memory is feeble so maybe it was 5 years ago. Anywho, it’s against CA law to have a false compartment “designed to hold illegal substances” or something along those lines.
So, all you have to do is show that it was designed for holding some legal substance and there’s nothing they can do to you. Oh, except for holding you for 48 hours and generally screwing with you.
Why would you even need this law? If the cops find illegal substance, do they need more counts to throw at you? One isn’t enough?!
Another great example of legislators who have priorities wrong, create laws to make a name for themselves, and create laws that have no substance. Figures it is Cali.
What is a false compartment? One that isn’t even there? Like my kitchen cabinet that has two drawer pulls and what appear to be drawer faces but are only decorative, as they do not open and there is nothing behind them because lower down the cabinet doors open to reveal nothing between the sinks and the cabinet floor, except of course all the stuff stored there?
How can you have a false compartment? If it is a compartment, it isn’t false, if you don’t have a compartment it doesn’t exist.
Those stupid bastards that passed the law not only are legislatively and constitutionally challenged but they have some serious language issues as well. But then, I suppose that is to be expected of stupid bastards.
What is not to be expected it that there are enough even more stupid bastards to keep electing them to office.
Now I know why my folks moved me out of California, I was overqualified, I could walk, talk and breathe all at the same time.
Another brainstorm intended to make criminals out of honest citizens. How Kalifornish…
I agree with you straightarrrow, the stupid bastards that keep re-electing the present commissars to the Kalifornistan politburo deserve what they get. And I’m glad I dont live in that friggin state anymore too.
