Efforts to control coyote populations are problematic; unlike predators a little further up the food chain, they tend to respond to the downward pressure on their populations with faster reproduction. Since we’ve all but wiped out their major competitor/effective predator (wolves), their populations are going to be a bigger and bigger problem.

Thanks for the link, Uncle. I talked to the neighbor of the neighbor this morning. The police were there with drawn guns. It’s rabies season too.
