I am now truly scared
Tam joked yesterday about the race as electing a priest-king what with all the healing the sick and other promises being made. I thought it was a good gag and some quality snark. But people really think we are electing a lord and savior.

Well, when your religion is the government, your savior naturally would be anyone who will spread that gospel the most effectively.

The Obama supporters do have a religious fervor about them. Not sure how considering Obama a savior and his alignment with a church that uses God’s name in vain from the pulpit will play with the religious electorate. I’m leaning toward poorly.
One concern is how these zealots will react if Obama isn’t elected. Many Lefties wrote completely insulting tirades when Kerry didn’t win. Not sure how calling joe six-pack an ignorant hick who plainly see they voted for the wrong candidate was going to help their cause but they did it anyway. I guess it is hard to keep from letting loose against the unwashed masses when they don’t fall for your tricks. But those Lefties went on a rant. Obama’s supporters could well go on a rampage. It might make good television.

And with their economic and social policy they don’t just want a Priest-King, they want a Priest-King-Magician.
Unfortunately all they ever deliver is a bone-chucking slight-of-hand charlatan Mayor of Mudville…
