The lies they tell
I’ve not read the rest of The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership president Paul Helmke’s latest because the first sentence is utter bullshit:
When we talk about making it harder for dangerous people to get guns, we usually focus on felons, domestic abusers and the dangerously mentally ill.
You never talk about making it harder for dangerous people to get guns nor do you focus on felons, domestic abusers and the dangerously mentally ill. Rather, you try making it harder for all people to get guns and focus on everyone.

You’re not reading between the lines. In his world, we all meet the definition of “dangerously mentally ill”, since we want to own guns. If you want nothing to do with guns, then you have the right to own one.
