Code Pink turns to Witchcraft

It was only a matter of time.

Code Pink is now resorting to witchcraft to beef up the number of its supporters protesting Berkeley’s controversial Marine Corps Recruiting Center.

The women’s anti-war group has told ralliers to come equipped with spells and pointy hats Friday for “Witches, clowns and sirens day,” the last of the group’s weeklong homage to Mother’s Day.

“Women are coming to cast spells and do rituals and to impart wisdom to figure out how we’re going to end war,” Zanne Sam Joi of Bay Area Code Pink told FOXNews.com.

The group’s week of themed protests, which included days to galvanize grannies and bring-your-daughter-to-protest, appears to have done little to boost its flagging numbers.

is it still legal to burn witches?

The cost of home heating oil these days…..I’m just sayin’ is all….

  2. Rustmeister Says:

Sounds like they’re showing their true colors, to me.

  3. Jay Says:

“is it still legal to burn witches?”

    They’re made of wood.

  4. Jay Says:

    But seriously,

You have to have a pretty fkered up view of life to not think these people are bat-shit crazy. Who wakes up in the morning and thinks “I know, we’ll send the witches in, that’ll make a difference.”

  5. JKB Says:

    Okay, witches I get.

Clowns, maybe but they seem out of context.

But sirens? These women couldn’t lure a man into a bar running a free beer and bacon special.

Or, you know, we could send the Marines. They have a long and storied history of ending wars. I’m just sayin’.

Okay, the ad for the “Magickal Cat” in this thread is too funny. Uncle, are you having a little fun?

  8. Dan Says:

Maybe its just a bunch of typos, since the w looks so much like a b.

  9. Pink Babe Says:

OK, I can understand that a lot of people make fun of these sorts of things, but I even found a bunch of wacko Baptists who think Code Pink is a cult! http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=11384 I mean, come on. Does people really take this “witchcraft” seriously? It was just a gimmick to get attention.

My chapter hasn’t done anything nearly so creative.

    Nine,

I’ll think of you tonight when I’m casting spells.

    BOO!

I think it was actually “witches, crones and sirens”…clowns get a bad rap far too often. There is a YouTube video of the turn out on Friday. The Code Pinker in charge is the one in the viking hat with the phony braids… but the whole group is pretty odd. Thank God Fox News came out to play, too. Their report is quite amusing.

As a local I must say my favorite part was the counter-protest by 4 or 5 members of Move America Forward. Three men showed up with brooms of their own, and a sign that said “Dorothy Would Drop her House on You!”. They had also poured a line of salt across the entrance to the USMC Office, having read that it would keep the “bad spirits” at bay.

Pink Babe — you need to remember that Berkeley is an epicenter of weird public behavior. Without the more bizarre gimmicks no one would distinguish Code Pink from the other wasted souls on the sidewalks of downtown here.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
