Cute, but as meaningless as all those other state vs. state or country vs. country comparisons. Better to compare each state before and after it went shall-issue.
Absolutely correct. But a lot of antis won’t sit still for that sort of analysis when spouting their “the streets will run red with blood.” This is can serve as a quick starting point with the more rational among them because it quickly and easily demonstrates that much of the rhetoric deserves a closer look. It runs so counter to their core beliefs and can be useful.
When they go “yeah, but how about a ‘before vs. after’ comparison,” then you whip those numbers out.
Go for the basic, simple, overarching points first and build from there.
The chart I copied definitely used a bad method to get its numbers. I created and posted a more accurate (and less spectacular) one at http://www.gunpundit.com/542.php. As we know, the right to carry states have a lower rate of violent crime, but not by nearly so much as that chart said.
