I’m glad the guy got fired — that was completely unacceptable behavior.
But in the 911 dispatcher’s defense I’d be willing to bet this woman and her boyfriend are “frequent flyers” with the cops. Which would probably explain why the cops were so reluctant to go out there in the first place.
The first thought that entered my mind was “I bet this is the hundredth time this week that woman has called the cops over her stupid relationship drama.” They were probably hoping the guy would stab her so she would shut the fuck up and stop bothering them. I doubt she was in any real danger.
In my experience, cops catch on really quick to this sort of thing. Back at my old place there was a malfunctioning telco computer that kept telling the police I had called 911 and disconnected. The cops got sent out to my place three times to have a brief chat that amounted to me saying “I didn’t call 911 because I don’t have a landline” and them leaving. By the third time, the cops (and this was different deputies responding each time) already knew that I was the guy with the telephone problem.
Living, as I do, in the Trashville area, Ive heard the teaser to this so many times I don’t give a shit either. Of course, it didn’t take me long before I was glad Laci Peterson was dead. And I still don’t care about Janet March.
The main problem is that instead of “serve and protect”, the higher-ups would rather the police be cash registers with guns. Executive order: abolish non-DUI traffic stops.

Little boy who cried wolf, and all that.

This is a perfect demonstration of why calling 911 is my backup plan.

That link freezes my ancient browser solid. I had to say conrol alt delete.
Why are the newspaper/TV/MSM sites always the most garbageous?
Are they trying to make us hate them, or what?
