It’s a shame that a noble, human loving breed has to suffer because it’s become popular with a demographic that’s full of utterly shitty excuses for human beings.
Basically an anti assault-dog measure. This one isn’t a real problem–the shelter can make its own policies, and responsible owners aren’t likely to let their dogs run loose to be picked up. When it is breed bans, I get worried. My mutts appear to be mostly Australian Shepherd and unlikely to be targeted, but how do you legally define a mixed “bad breed”?
It’s a bit of an over reaction. But irresponsible dog owners are causing this problem by not training their dogs in the first place. Even a Chihuahua will bite if not properly trained.

I’d agree with it if it were based on the dog, and not the breed. It won’t have any effect, of course. Rescues will pop up in response.

and how exactly does one show proof of ownership of a dog?
last dog i owned was 100% mine, but my mom paid all of the vet bills… so i guess i could show food receipts?

Cynthia, you’re preaching to the converted.
