Hey, teachers, leave those kids alone

No mention in the story, but IIRC the kid could have been arrested on felony charges for posession of ammunition componants with out a Mass gun licence. I need to show my card when buying ANY componants (bullets, primers, powder, cases) for handloading. It’s illigal to have posession of fired cases (even rimfire). I’m pretty sure this is a felony in Mass.
Sadly the paper didn’t cover this law, as its VERY dumb, and all but the most idiotic liberals would see it as irrational.

Almost makes me want to have a baby so I can homeschool it and teach it to shoot.
Almost.

We’re not on a slippery slope, we’ve hit rock-bottom with teaching kids hoplophobia. I chaperoned a field trip to an Indian museum and I bought arrowheads for souvenirs for all the kids. I had to give them to the teacher to clear them with the principal before passing them out to the kids.

I believe the term is, we have hit bottom and have commenced digging.
Oh, BTW, weer’d is right. The kid’s lucky they’re not pressing felony charges…

i would be surprised if the empty brass from a blank round could be considered an ammunition reloading component… unless MA is really that backwards…
my how far a state that was once so instrumental in the fight for freedom has fallen

And to top it off, they are refusing to return it.

MGL Ch 140 Sec 121
““Ammunition”, cartridges or cartridge cases, primers (igniter), bullets or propellant powder designed for use in any firearm, rifle or shotgun. The term “ammunition” shall also mean tear gas cartridges, chemical mace or any device or instrument which contains or emits a liquid, gas, powder or any other substance designed to incapacitate.”
It’s stupid, but it’s the law. But this is MA, so I repeat myself.

“It’s stupid, but it’s the law.”
Actually, this is the law;
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
No local or state government was supposed to get away with violating it. Those who perpetrate such violations are subject to prosecution.
Now all we need is a prosecutor who will do his/her duty.
