I’m surprised so many people think it immoral to clone animals. Farmers clone plants all the time to increase production and/or quality. We eat animals, so how would it be wrong to clone the best ones for better quality or better productivity? Who would be victimized by such a practice? Who’s rights would be violated?
It’s especially interesting that more people think it’s OK to use stem cells extracted from human embryos than think it’s OK to clone animals. I’m going to guess that the discrepancy is purely Pavlovian– a result of politics– the stem cell bit came about when Bush started funding stem cell research at unprecedented levels, causing the Left to go ape shit over the fact that he put any limitations on it at all (on government-funded stem cell research only). They went ape shit because, you know, it was Bush who did it, and Bush, as everyone knows, is Hitler (interesting, since Hitler would have been in favor of using human embryos, and even live humans, for medical experiments).

Wow. I’d say I’m speechless, but that’s not true. My Snark is on my blog…
