I’m beginning to suspect that it wasn’t the bidman .50, but rather they saw a .50 for sale on an auction site, and the bidding was only at 29.95 at that point(with 6 days left or whatever).
No, it has to be a typo in the original report, which the lying Brady Bunch ran with. The original report says roughly “you can get a second hand .50 for about $3000, we found a used one for sale on the internet for $29.95.” Drop the decimal point and you get about $3000. The obviousness of the typo really, really highlights the mendacity of the Bradys.
Doesn’t matter, Rob. The GAO did the research and placed into a report. That made it official. It might be wrong, it might be stupid but it is there. And the Brady’s are happy to quote it with “See how easily you can get one of these super destructive weapons on any street corner!”. They technically aren’t lying because the Gov’t did say so. But the truth of that assertion needs to be challenged wherever they bring it up.
I’m not shocked the Gov’t did it. It’s sad, really. But not a surprise.
