which wouldn’t really be a finale

I’m two shows behind. I’ll probably only get to one tonight, but I’m going to try to watch both.

At least they didn’t make the mistake of Galactica 1980… *shudder*
Ghost Hunters is having a “mid-season Finale”, too…this is an oxymoron that makes my head want to explode…as in…ya’ll do know that the FINAL in FINALE means “the end”, right? I guess they blanched at the idea of calling it “Mid-Season Climax”, which would technically be more accurate ๐

I’m guessing avoiding any comparison to 1980 was why they did it. Much better in my opinion.

That episode wasn’t up for viewing at SciFi.com yesterday, but I’m caught up to that point.
It’s been damned interesting, so far.

Wait, so was that the last episode ever then? Or will they continue the rest of the season? I don’t get it.
The really funny thing is that my wife and I used to live about 3 blocks from where they filmed that final scene.

Ben:
There’s a series finale coming up sometime in the future. It’s said to be 3 hrs. There’s also a prequel series called Caprica (and one called Pegasus) that are supposed to be in the works.

No, It’s the same as they did for Season 2. They broke it up into a 2.0 and a 2.5. We just finished Season 4.0 and 4.5 (10 Episodes) won’t be until next year.
Thus the need for a “finale”.

Didn’t see what coming? I didn’t expect them to find Earth, but as soon as it was obvious they were going to, what they’d find there was even more obvious.

… Now if only my TiVo and I had not missed the previous half-season…

Season 4.5 is now (supposedly) slated for 11 hours, three of which will comprise the “final episode.” They wrote / filmed / had lying around enough material to expand the planned finale by another hour.
SciFi is part of the Universal group of networks, of which NBC is a part. It seems that they are responsible for this “mid-season finale” garbage. It’s all hype to make people pay a bit more attention than they might otherwise. Bleah.

*Whew* Ok, all caught up now!
Love that show! Absolutely fantastic writing. I am glad, however, that they are planning to end it and not run it on for a gazillion years.
Tigh is a bad ass. I was wondering what he’d do when he was forced to disclose his identity, and that was perfectly in character for him.

You know, ben, you are a bloody genius.
… and, wow, I am stupid sometimes.
