Huh?
Someone in the press points out the obvious: Criminals tend to ignore wishful ‘Gun Free Zones’
Really? Who knew?

Posit: Criminals don’t ignore “gun free zones” at all. I’d say, rather, they specifically target “gun free zones”, in much the same way a fox might target a hen house, or the way a jihadist would have targeted an airliner.
They have it half-right however, and that would be significant progress– that criminals aren’t the slightest bit deterred by “gun free zone” signs.
They’re painting themselves into a corner though. Once you accept the fact that criminals aren’t deterred by a stupid “gun free zone” sign, you then are forced to answer the question, “Aren’t criminals in fact going to be attracted to “gun free zones” as easy targets?”
If you answer, “yes” then the next obvious question would be, “Should the proponents of ‘gun free zones’ be forced to take down the signs and back off, or face legal liability or possible criminal charges under 18 USC 241 and 242?”
