Hush, hush, keep it down now, open carry
Btw ‘Til Tuesday rocks.
I was harsh on open carry folks the other day. Guy With Guns has a detailed read on it and why people do it.
Personally I think that guns, like Kos Kids in the general election, shouldn’t be seen.

I would sooner see concealed carry come to all 50 states first before we push one other state to adopt open carry. Just like with MGs, I have no opposition to it in *principle*, just a matter of political pragmatism.
Hope in time case law can expand on the Heller discussion of distinguishing the right to keep (i.e. mere possession, keep @ home) and the right to bear (i.e. carry, at least concealed if not open) arms…that these are two bundled rights and that “keep and bear” is not just meaningless rhetorical flourish for “own”.

Speaking from another standpoint, I open carry because I needed the gun at the time, and could not afford two hundred bucks worth of fees, a full weekend at classes that are available once a month during my workdays, and then trying to schedule another hour at a police department that was only open at the time I normally worked.
It’s not all about political statement.

no it isnt all about political statements, but like it or not, by carrying a gun on your hip you are a representative of all gun owners…if you act like an asshat, you will give other gun owners a bad name… if you act polite, and courteous, you will give that impression of others as well…
