It’s very important for retired police officers to be able to carry firearms anywhere in the country. They’re SO much more deserving of this privilege than I am, or you.
When we see a Decent Americans Safety Act that allows nationwide concealed carry for most Americans, then I’ll be a little happier.
mariner beat me. I’m usually opposed to laws like this because they give special privileges to a select class of people. The “select class” in this case has far too often worked on the anti-RKBA side to keep citizens from enjoying the very same lost rights.
I realize that most rank and file police support us, but y’all have some shoddy lobbying groups on your side of the blue line.
Good call Alcibiades. In spite of the sour grapes of those that didn’t do a 23 year loby of Congress and only then barly got Bush to sign this, its hopefully a first step but all the sidelines screamers that have done NOTHING to move this issue have no room for gripe. Do 30 years as a target and get some sympathy….get in the battle and stop running your lips. Every one I have approached to start a movement complaine “its too hard”, “I don’t want to give the money”, “I don’t have time” On and ON and ON. They want it handed to them as a “right”. Well rights have costs and are not free!
Sides the states (except Fla) are doing everything NOT to allow this. My home state has refused to comply for example.
Sulaco,
Oddly enough I thought that us non-Only Ones had a lobby working on repealing gun laws. Called pejoratively the “gun lobby”. In fact they have been around a lot longer than 23 years. They go by a simple 3 letter acronym… FOP?…nope, oh yeah the NRA. or are they lobbying for gun control, I have trouble figuring that out when I look at the laws they lobby for.

If Mayor Bloomberg and his ilk oppose it, then I support it. Once we have a number of people with National Carry, it may expand to include everyone.
