Seems we started a trend. What kind of dog is this one?
I definitely see some bully in him.

Oh my god. You’re totally luring me to the dark side with the whole “Guess this dog” game. I’ve spent more time reading up on gun issues in the past week than I have in my whole life, based solely on my love of “Guess this dog.
Damn you gun nuts! Damn you.
Anyway, I think what he’s got here is a blackmouth cur (one of my favorite kinds of dogs ever. God, what a good dog.) Rhodesian Ridgeback mix.

That is 100% pit bull. The lick on the back can happen in lots of dogs. It is not an indicator of Ridgeback ancestry.

Oh, yeah, and having been a breeder of Yellow Black Mouth Curs, the yellow coat is not an indicator of BMC ancestry.

The body’s certainly right for a pitbull, but I think the muzzle is set too far down on his face for him to be a pure pitbull. And look how narrow it is, especially at the top, behind the nose. I know it’s hard to talk about pitbulls exactly, since you’re talking three or four different breeds, but an AmStaff’s muzzle would be higher on the face, broader right behind the nose, and wouldn’t slope down like that, but come straight out. Also, and again, depending on what you mean by “100% pure,” those eyes are situated more on the front of the face than I’d think you’d see in a pitbull.
But, yeah, I mean, depending on what you mean by pitbull, he could very well be 100% pitbull and not meet my standards. He could be from fighting stock. He’s definitely got that high chest that the fighters seem to prefer now. But I still don’t think the eyes and muzzle are quite right for him to be 100%. That looks to me like he’s got some kind of hunting dog mixed in.

Just your regular old dog.

Since “pit bulls” and AmStaffs (essentially the genteel pit bull accepted by the AKC decades ago and bred to be agreeable pets since) originated from thoroughly mixed catch-dogs whose own pedigrees were gumbos of whatever was useful, a lot of purebred bully dogs look pretty much like bully crosses. And if he is indeed hackling in the one photo, there’s no reason to assume Ridgeback ancestry- my dogs hackle in the same pattern, just with longer fur to bristle with.
I’d say anything from a purebred AmStaff (I have seen them with muzzles like that before) to a pit bull to a boxer/Great Dane cross. That kind of morphology doesn’t tell you much except that a bully breed was involved at some point.

Like I said in the other thread, he’s a Ridgeback AmStaff mix; with maybe some boxer. As LabRat says, it can be hard to tell with the bully cross breeds.

Hmmm.
Personally I’m more partial to Shelties. Fine dogs and smart as heck.
