Shooting the dog – update
Remember that mayor whose dog was killed when the police put on their ninja clothes and kicked in his door because someone mailed him some weed? Well, turns out that:
1) Police concluded that maybe that really wasn’t his weed (duh – who mails 30 pounds of illegal drugs and doesn’t plan on getting caught).
2) And the police, it seems, did not obtain a no-knock warrant. This would seem odd since they did not knock, stormed his house, and shot his dogs.
Now, maybe these ridiculous raids will get some attention. Good thing that bad things happen to important people or no one would ever notice.

Unfortunately, since it was not a no-knock warrant situation, it probably will not receive all of the useful attention it deserves. Certainly will not bring the dogs back, but I do hope the police responsible for this are dealt with accordingly.

Maybe next they’ll claim they were investigating a domestic terrorism case and therefore get a pass thanks to the U.S.A. PATRIOT Act. Warrants??? We ain’t Got No time for no steenkin’ warrants.

there is something even more concerning… if you read the stories on the incident, it is widely reported that the person that delivered the package was an undercover sheriff…
the cops PLANTED EVIDENCE on the guys front porch!!!

I just finished dinner with some older guys, some of whom studied a lot of history. One of them said this; “That’s exactly what Hitler’s Brown Shirts used to do.” He went on to explain that even though it might not be their intent, the effect of this incident is a message to all mayors in all cities; “This can happen to your family too”.
This “War on Drugs” (aka “Prohibition”) has turned the police force into a government form of the mob.

CNN is covering the story now.
The reporter is giving the police spokesperson a tough time.
Mebbe this starts something….
