I hope he is. The bastard sold us down the river to protect his “little gun”. Thankfully the company is coming around, and I for one applaud them for it. The first indication was the NRA special edition mini that came with a 20 rounder. Good job Ruger.

I’m done with ruger. 1 free and a cupon for 2 more a thirty a crack?
No thanks.
Ruger sucks.
Thread a muzzel brake on and send the rifle in to say, have a new firing pin installed (you can only get them from ruger, and the only way is to let them install it).
But wait, they will not unless you pay for a new barrel and a ‘refinishing fee’. THey won’t put a pin in a non stock rifle. They won’t sell you a pin. Or a new barrel if you want one, even to qualified gunsmiths.
The 2 rugers I have are all that I will ever have. Wish I had known.

I thought the rumor was that Bill Ruger wanted a 15 round magazine limit, if a Congress enacted a limit at all.

I hear ya Steve, but then again, my Rugers have been so reliable, and they were such a good deal, I find a little hassle in the event I need service is a small price to pay. But I’ve never needed service. One of our Mini-14s has been used in long-term torture testing too. It’s fired as much as 1,000 rounds in one day.
I wonder how many companies will service their products once you’ve substantially modified them by replacing major working components with after-market parts. Some, yes, but not a majority I think.
Not only has Ruger turned a corner with this 20 round mag bit, but the NRA has turned a corner too. I don’t know how many of you were watching the NRA closely 20 or even 10 years ago, but back then you would never have seen anything like this– an NRA model semi-auto with a 20 round mag, shorter barrel, AND an evil-looking black synth stock? Absolutely no way.
This is a great development and should be rewarded. Same goes for STI, Dura-Coat, and Ronnie Barret.

You can get duplicate firing pins for minis from Brownells.
