More Obama on guns
NRA notes Barack Well, I think if you’ve got a guy named Barack Hussein Obama, that’s a pretty good contrast to George W. Bush Obama’s votes to ban guns:
In 2003 while serving in the Illinois State Legislature, Obama voted in favor of a bill in the Judiciary Committee that would have made it illegal to “knowingly manufacture, deliver or possess” a so-called “semi-automatic assault weapons.” Under this bill, a firearm did not actually have to be semi-automatic to be banned. According to definitions in the bill, all single-shot and double-barreled shotguns 28-gauge or larger, and many semi-automatic shotguns of the same size, would be banned as “assault weapons.” This definition would have banned a large percentage of the shotguns used for hunting, target shooting and self-defense in the United States. The bill also would have banned hundreds of models of rifles and handguns.
Obama’s response is to relax, he doesn’t have the votes.

Worst name pun (or whatever it is) yet – and there have been some pretty bad ones.
Otherwise carry on.

What really impresses me with these bills is how much effort they attempt to exempt Non-Icky guns with abject failure.
I mean HR-1022 goes to great lenth to explain what features are icky…but the definion of “Barrel Shroud” they could have saved themselves a ream of paper by saying “Any Self-Loading long-arm” Bayonet lugs and “conspicous pistol grips” be damned, if you’re going to have such an obteuse defintion of “Barrel Shroud” that means “The forearm of EVERY DAMN GUN EVER MADE”
Oh and for a fun FYI: The other day I was shooting sporting clays with my Mossberg 590, I accidently put my hand on the heat sheild of the gun. It was damn warm…I know I would have hurt myself if I had unintentionally touched the barrel. Heat sheilds are good safety features if you ask me!

The foregrip furniture on a WASR-10 (Rumanian AK clone) is necessary…those things heat up fast.
He may not have the votes in Congress, but he lacks only 1 in SCOTUS, and that’s the scary part.
