SayUncle: Potential Terrorist
Again.
FBI has a publication called Sniper Tactics and Effects on the US Homeland 2007. It says:
Showing a keen interest in marksmanship, obtaining sniper-related books and other training materials, spending time at shooting ranges, modifying vehicles in a nontraditional manner, and purchasing rifles and associated optics may be indicators of potential terrorist planning efforts; however, most of these indicators can be associated with legitimate purposes. The difficulty lies in determining when individuals or groups are engaged in these types of activities in support of terrorist attack planning.
I bolded those that I do.

What does building custom scoped heavy-barrel bolt guns in .300 Whisper with 1/2″x28 threaded muzzles make someone?
I mean, just out of curiosity…

I do all those AND I modify vehicles all the time.
Guess that makes me a terrorist.

Hmmm…
“most of these indicators can be associated with legitimate purposes”
Anybody wanna guess which ones can’t be?

All of them can be associated with legitimate purposes. When I first started getting involved in dynamite shoots sniper manuals were the best source of information on acquiring the skills and equipment necessary to accomplish the task.
Boomershoot now has sniper instructors from Ft. Lewis put on a Precision Rifle Clinic for two days prior to the main event.
