Interesting
So, as mentioned before, the American Hunters And Shooters Association has endorsed Obama (no surprise since that is what it was set up to do). So, AHSA shill Ray Schoenke takes to the radio to tell everyone why hunters and shooters (who those crazy AHSA directors like to call whackos and extremists) should not fear Obama. So, why does he talk about taxes and not guns:
“It’s important to me that our next President protects our Second Amendment rights to own guns and defend ourselves,” says Schoenke. “Barack Obama and John McCain will both make sure we can keep our guns. But what about keeping our jobs? Barack’s got a real plan that invests in creating jobs here at home and cuts taxes a thousand bucks for working families. John McCain? I saw a lot of cheap shots in my day, but McCain’s false attacks on Obama are just a fake to hide the ball. His plan sells out American workers. McCain will keep giving tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas. And he’ll look the other way while China breaks our trade deals. It’s the same old Bush playbook. Look, when the coach loses eight years in a row, you don’t bring him back for a ninth season! We just can’t afford more of the same.”
And here I thought they’d have a rousing discussion on their favorite shotgun loads.

In a stunning twist, this is exactly what we’ll be talking about on the show tonight.

Why is he talking about taxes?
Because Ray is doing the piece as an Obama surrogate, not as AHSA. Yes, they mention AHSA, but they also mention the Redskins. In fact, that’s your bigger story since they wanted to emphasize his football credentials before even AHSA.
Based on the Obama disclaimer at the beginning, this is just an Obama ad with a surrogate who also happens to be part of AHSA. It would appear that AHSA did not pay for it or plan it.
The only thing this really tells us that AHSA doesn’t mind its top public leaders taking public stands on other issues. To my knowledge, neither Wayne LaPierre nor Chris Cox have taken stands on other issues while using the NRA name to add to their credentials.

When people are ready to limit their gun “rights” and I use that term advisedly, to narrow, licensed activities like hunting and at indoor shooting ranges, then gun control extremists like Obama, and McCain to a lesser extent, don’t concern them. They’re the masters who allow the quaint little peasants to have guns for those controlled and resticted reasons, while they have hired guns for their self-defense at ALL times.
Let’s enforce “the equal protection of the laws” (14th Amendment)so that whatever gun control laws are in place apply to the Obama’s and McCain’s! I don’t think they’d go for that…because “we’re all equal, but some are more equal than others.”
