Wouldn’t have anything to do with the source on the Obama “scoop” being known to be highly unreliable, would it?
Although, frankly, the Obama accusation is sensationalist, and given their general lack of concern for the truth, I’m surprised the media hasn’t run with it.
So…how many news articles hunted up Amir Tehari and Hoshyar Zebari to ask them what really happened? Was there an interpreter in the conversation? Would he talk about it?
And when Obama’s campaign claims it’s a lie that he asked for a delay in the agreement process…then claims that he told them they should delay the agreement process…I have to wonder WTF they mean.
(Read paragraphs 5 and 6 of the story you linked. Then re-read paragraphs 1 and 8. Who edited this news story?)
I’m not sure where Amir Tehari got his reputation for being unreliable, but I sure do know that the joke represents the screwed-up priorities of the American press.

They did run this, however.
It will be interesting to see what the fact check sites come up with, if they bother to look at it.
