I lean toward the “Modified FBI” technique. At least that’s what they call it on that site.
I call it the “Not getting shot when someone shoots at the light” technique.

Yeah, I did some force-on-force training using airsoft pistols a while back that included low-light/flashlight exercises and keeping the light off my centerline worked best for me by far.
When all they can see is the light, that’s what they’re going to shoot at. When I was using methods of keeping the flashlight next to the gun, I kept getting shot.
Multiple airsoft hits to the fingers isn’t pleasant even when you’re wearing gloves, but bullets would be even less fun.
