Cooper Firearms – the last bit
Cooper Firearms, the company, has done everything in their power to remedy this situation, and I’m going to come out and say they ought to be welcomed back into the community.

Ok, then, let’s see Cooper’s head on a pike.
Financials from Cooper, etc., showing he’s no longer associated with the runnng of the company. I just went to the http://www.cooperfirearms.com website and there’s no mention of any of this. The most recent posting under the “news and events” link is for their rifle shoot on August 15/16, 2008. I’d think getting the resignation of the president of the company would be a worthwhile item to include in “news and events.”
Until I see that head spinning in the breeze on a stick, sorry, but I’m calling bullshit. We’ve been Zumboed enough.

It never was the company, only the CEO. The other 30 or so folks who worked there producing fine rifles COULD put all their shit on one sock.

“I concur.”.
I do not. But by all means, concur away….

If industry believes there’s nothing they can do to satisfy us, then they lose any incentive to do the right thing, and our power disappears.

I don’t know the incident to which this refers.
Please provide me with a link to an article describing the controversy.
Cooper makes really nice, high end bolt action varmint rifles.

ah yes..lets destroy those that disagree with us. But firing him apparently isn’t enough…perhaps you can send out a team to put the head of his favorite horse into his bed and kill his dog.

Firing Dan Cooper was a start, but it still doesn’t make up for the fact that they lied about contributions to the McCain campaign and the RNC in my view. If they lied about something that was easily fact checked (campaign contributions) why should I trust what they say about something I can’t easily verify (who is on Cooper Firearms payroll). As of press time, Cooper Firearms is still in the doghouse as far as I’m concerned. I’m in no hurry to welcome them back into the fold. I’m going to wait and see what else they do before I take them off the “do not buy” list. Is that a bit harsh? Sure it is. Had they not lied in a lame attempt at damage control I wouldn’t be as inclined to write them off.

Yea, Achmed. Boo Manish, why would anyone sacrifice perfectly good horses or dogs to make a point with this dogshit horse’s ass?
As for the company, we’ll see. They have done much less harm than Zumbo and have responded much more quickly. However, the lame lie, makes me suspicious also.
Of course, that could have been posted on the word of Cooper himself, and accepted by others in the company until shown it was a lie. It is possible they were just as mishandled as were Cooper’s intentions toward ua.
