AHSA: Lying about Cooper
Ray Schoenke of the American Hunters and Shooters Association writes that the big, bad NRA took Cooper down:
Today, on behalf of the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA), I condemned the actions by the NRA and its cronies forcing Dan Cooper out.
The gun lobby’s attempt to destroy a good man and small business owner, a loyal member of the gun fraternity, again reveals the desperate Joe McCarthy-like politics of fear that the NRA leadership and others put first. They are trying to scare America’s hunters and shooters into voting against Barack Obama — but we have one thing to say: vote hope and not fear.
Trouble is that it’s a lie to say the NRA had anything to do with it. Cooper’s actions were mentioned on blogs and some internet forums. The NRA never mentioned it. The NRA did, however, link to the USA Today piece after Cooper resigned. But the AHSA can’t believe that there are grassroots activists drawing attention to this stuff. After all, they’ve never had any grassroots of their own. Like other anti-gun groups.
The anti-gunners and the press (but I repeat myself) tried the same sleight of hand during the Zumbo incident.

I don’t think the NRA can react that fast.
This was totally done on some blogs and forums
before the NRA was even was aware.

The American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) has completely outed themselves as a strawman organization created to speak in our place and make us look extremist.
We really need to dig up some dirt on them and lean on the major media outlets to stop using them as a sham resource for the perspective of gun owners.

Patrick, everybody already knows this. the dirt has been dug, the msm know who and what they are. They just don’t care for the truth, and are relying upon the uninformed masses to swallow the tripe they are putting out.

Scenario:
Obama receives invitation from Ted Nugent and a “reformed” Jim Zumbo, to Ted’s Ranch, for the same demo and explanation of responsible “black rifle” use and the demographics and economic implication of restrictions.
The outcomes of a meeting like this would allow the gun-owning community to render final judgement on any decisions by an Obama administration in this domain.
And anything that I have read about increases in gun and ammo excise taxes, the proceeds go right back to the states from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as remittances for:
Wildlife & Sport Fishing Restoration
Habitat Restoration
Hunter Education
Wildlife Management
Wildlife Research
Shooting Ranges
