the market speaks
Not a fan of the HopeyChangey. DOW down 400. S&P 18%.
Good for investment in lead and steel though. Tam has some investment tips.

If today’s market was mad about Obama winning, then yesterday’s market must have been pretty dim. Did it actually think McCain was going to pull off a 6-point upset?

Maybe the market is made up of a large number of people who have all sorts of different reasons for buying or selling and trying to attribute intentions to the market as a whole is a mistake.

Freudian slip often? 🙂 I think you mean “steel.”

Oh, and Xrlq is right: attempts to tie single-day market performance to an election outcome are pretty silly.

And it is silly.

“Buy on the rumor, sell on the news”.
This, as others have said, tells us very little.

And, obviously, its Bush’s fault.

When they almost passed SB43 a couple years ago here in MD (would have banned everything other than six shooters and breach loader shotguns…no pumps, no semi auto rifles, etc), AR receiver sales went through the roof. I still have mine in the closet, haven’t built it up yet as I’m a pistol and shotgun guy…but man, might be time to start on that before I have to bury it in the backyard.
My hope is that between the situation in the ME, the economic crisis, and all the other more pressing issues, the Obamatrons won’t want to spend much political capital going after guns in a post Heller world.

So… The soaring economic upswing on gun and magazine purchases that is directly attributable to Obama’s election as so many people have said – but the Dow falling even farther today is not? Can’t compare the two, it’s foolish, right? I get it – and it’s Bush’s fault too.
