Yup
Looks to be over.
I blame Republicans who abandoned every principle that got them elected in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
Reap, sow, blah blah.
But it’s a historic day. And I can say I was there. Drinking. A lot.

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!

And America thought we could not get a worse president than Bush. Ha!

I guess I’m ok with this, but what will piss me off is if the media helps hide all of Obama’s fuckups after 8 years of making a mountain out of every molehill for Bush.

Maybe a true conservative like Ron Paul could of swayed voters, Bobby.

Republicans – and in particular George W. – are very unpopular. It shouldn’t be a surprise they lost.

I agree with andy. Ron Paul was the only primary candidate on the Republican side who could have had a chance of turning the financial/credit crisis into a campaign strength (while it only put more nails into John Foreign Policy McCain’s coffin).

Wat? That crazy little man?? He preached fiscal responsibility and individual responsibility and liberty. How quaint. The American public – re-public-ans – soundly rejected his message. They have gotten their wish tonight.

you forgot the elections of 94, 96, and 98. unrestrained spending got them into office, but 9/11 presented them a new checkbook all full of checks and they embraced the old “I can’t be overdrawn, I’ve still got checks” gag. Power hungry, self serving, idiots.
If I never have to hear of an elected official serving more than one term ever again, it will be too soon.

Sounds about right to me, Andy. That is who I would wanted to vote for, but im a realist…
At what point does realisim become a hinderance?

It is indeed an historic day: Never in the history of the Republic have the American people elected someone who so genuinely hates the freedom enshrined in the Bill of Rights.
Stock up on Vaseline, because every responsible & productive citizen is in for 2 to 4 years of BOHICA.

Lets see..Patriot Act, No Fly Lists, signing McCain-Feingold, saying he would sign an extension of AWB, GitMo, detaining people in the aftermath of 9/11 because they were brown….I think GWB has the lock on hating freedom.

No one voted for Bush knowing he’d be so awful to the bill of rights. Same people voted for Obama under false premise, they’ll soon find him pushing his own agenda.

umm..perhaps not the first time, but he had most of his damage by the time he sought re-election.

Ron Paul’s out-of-date views on economics and foreign policy would destroy this country even faster than Obama.
The Gold Standard is dead. It should remain so.

Fiat currency controlled by the federal reserve bank is TONS better, it’s working out so well right now.
