Don’t laugh. An omnibus anti-terrorism bill that came about after 911, I think from ALEC, and shopped around to the states would in fact prohibit anything that can propel a projectile out of a bore over .50. The bill does not include any gun words like rifle, cartridge, etc.
“…the fundamental mistake of banning hardware rather than punishing criminal behavior.”
They can’t punish criminal behavior. It’s Jersey! They’d have to go against the Mafia. It’s safe to ban hardware and disarm prospective Mafia victims though. The NRA won’t send them a dead fish in the mail. Nice people those NRA types. Laughable and hard to take seriously; bunch of losers when push comes to shove in the Jersey legislature; can’t even begin to compete with the Mafia, but nice, nice people those NRA folks.
How about a trebuchet that can lob a frozen moose half a mile? Imagine a moose coming through the roof of the New Jersey Assembly while they’re debating a .50 ban. That’d make the papers! (Or Youtube.)
