Standing your ground
In Memphis, people seem to be taking measures to deal with violent crimes. That of course makes them vigilantes.

Check out the poll they have running with that piece – kinda answers the question they pose about whether that fellow did the right thing..

“Yet along with the glow of these crime victims’ stories comes a share of tragedy. Memphian Jacob Evans shot and killed an assailant who, after robbing him once, had returned to rob again. ”
Not sure I see the tragedy here? Dead robber who was stupid enough to come back a second time is a good thing. Tragedy would be if Mr. Evans lost one night’s sleep over this.

“The real question is do we respect the criminal justice system or do we go back to a vigilante, every-man-for- himself situation?” asked Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
With the ineffective present “justice” system that coddles criminals maybe we should Paul! Vigilante law has worked well in seriously reducing crime in the past when the justice system didnt work so why would’nt it work now?

I’d hate to see this catch on.
Much better if the intended victim simply pulled out his own piece and shot the criminal.
