Guess that explains it
Police in India were criticized for not shooting back. Now, we know why:
Cops just had 577 rifles, hadn’t fired in 10 yrs
The state constabulary was grossly unprepared to deal with the worst-ever terror attacks on the metropolis because of an acute shortage
of weapons and ammunition.

It sounds like they had an acute shortage of balls. Pussies…

Contrast that to here where many of us can tell them underarmed cops: “Come to my house! Here’s a rifle and 200 rounds. Next!”. 20-30 cops later, the cabinet is near-empty.
And when we’re down to our last rifle, we saddle up and head out with the cops since odds are good we shoot better than them!

Interesting number of rifles there – I wonder if it has anything to do with an older Enfield caliber?

If their ammunition was of the same *high quality* as the Indian surplus .308 which was on the market here last year, it may have taken 10 years to clear any stoppages if they had bothered to train with it.
Would the ammo have worked at all is my next question…

Rabbit.

One has to wonder if the attackers had any prior knowledge of the cops’ weapons and training shortcomings. I mean, you haven’t seen terrorists attacking, say, a Camp Perry meet or an NRA convention lately, have you?

Obviously they did enough research to know that there was not going to be a lot of organized resistance till the cavalry arrived in the form of the army. I’m betting the weapons/ammunition issue for the local constabulary is going to change in the very near future.

195 Died. Fucking slaughterhouse. All the ‘terrorists’ need to know is that government don’t give a shit if a few tax-sheep are slain. Give me a break – our government douches in blue wouldn’t rush into a mall to save your loved ones, what makes you think the curryforce would?

In all fairness, I doubt very much that the ordinary street cop of Mumbai has the first clue about counter-terrorist assault techniques. You can buy them the machinery but training is still the most important factor. Police culture there seems to be far removed from responding to sudden firefights, even more so than our own.
