Teacher Carry

Rich Hailey:

I’m writing an article for the News Sentinel discussing the idea of allowing teachers with Handgun Carry Permits to carry their weapons on school grounds. I’d like to get reactions from community parents for the story.

I know this is going to be a shock to a lot of you, but I am 100% opposed to teacher carry.

F*ckers should walk like the rest of us.

  2. Wolfwood Says:

It’s not a reason to prevent it, but I suspect some teacher (or substitute teacher) will shoot one of his/her students eventually. Is there any way to effectively counter this?

  3. Robb Allen Says:

Wolfwood, no. Because you would be trying to refute an emotionally based argument with logic.

I mean, teachers have molested their students, but nobody seriously considers removing teachers’ dangly bits. Teachers have stabbed students with scissors, but they’re still allowed to have them. Heck, I’m related to someone who decided hitting a student was a good idea.

They let her keep her fists.

I now have a site where I work on a University campus.
I cannot carry here. Why not? It is government property and the 2nd Amendment applies to Fed.gov and State.gov. – just like the other 20+.

I do like that the local PD had a well made video about what to do if a shooter is on the grounds. The first choice was flee. The second was hide. The third was resist. At least they had resist. But if I were not barred my Right of Self Preservation (on government property none-the-less), then at least the third choice would have a chance in hell of working.

Both the teacher and the principal at my kids school carry at least one firearm and one knife each…. of course you can guess….we homeschool.

  6. JJR Says:

_Jon, I’m in the same boat as you. I think I’ve seen that same video.

  7. Captain Holly Says:

You could always point them to Utah, since teachers have been allowed to carry in schools there since 1995.

  8. LissaKay Says:

This whole story gets even better … it started when I wrote THIS. The liberal feminists that run that site thought it would make a good subject for a newspaper article. So who did they contact about it?

    Here’s a hint: Not me.

    Yeah. I thought so too.

Guess what? Even though I am a girl, I am capable of thinking for myself and forming my own opinions without anyone’s help! (And I bet the thought of me owning and carrying a gun would just make them pee their britches too!)

  9. workinwifdakids Says:

Note: the journalist asked to speak with parents, but not teachers.

    Interesting.

  10. LissaKay Says:

I guess I should clarify for those who don’t know … Rich Hailey is my fiance.

The irony (not to mention insult) is rather thick here.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
