Early last year, when I got my CPL, there was only one other person there getting his.
Last week, a co-worker went to get his permit, and told me the lobby of the Sheriff’s office was crowded and the clerk did not even ask him why he was there, she just handed him the CPL paperwork. He also said the crowd was 2-1 girls to guys.
Of course, except for Seattle, WA is pretty gun friendly, and I know Everett cops like people with CPLs.
John Ross (of Unintended Consequences fame) is known for occasionally carrying a S&W .500 in a SmartCarry holster. Actually I think he may have a custom one made for carrying two .500’s.
Mostly he does it when teaching his CCW class to help answer questions about how you’re supposed to be able to carry a G26 without everyone noticing.
Do note, however, that John is not what you’d call an itty-bitty guy.

Heh – I love the associated picture – would anyone actually attempt to carry that firearm?
