I’m guessing mistakes are not unreasonable?

Further erosion of the fourth amendment:

The Supreme Court said Wednesday that evidence obtained after illegal searches or arrests based on simple police mistakes may be used to prosecute criminal defendants.

I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more simple police mistakes.

SHOT Goodies

Lots of gun porn:

Sig Sauer P238 .380 1911

DPMS ARs in 308.

Suppressed AR carbine.

Ruger LCR.

What media bias

The Nashville Dog Trainer on the dirty pool in the state house:

The editorial board of this newspaper will say here that it shared the concerns of many Democrats about how Republicans might handle their newfound majority, and whether the GOP might use its narrow 50-49 edge in the House to ramrod through an agenda on gun rights, abortion, the state’s tax structure and other issues when a more moderate approach is needed.

Of course you do.

Second Amendment Round Up

Is here.

Another Bloomberg Mayor Against Guns arrested:

Agents of the Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation arrested Racine Mayor Gary Becker at Brookfield Square Mall Tuesday and booked him into the Kenosha County Jail while seeking several charges including child enticement, according to the state attorney general’s office.

Thirdpower reminds us that that is number 7.

Gun rumors

Wilson to buy Cooper Firearms?

Because he’s anti-gun?

Why Gun-Rights Advocates Are Opposing Holder

What first amendment?

In SC, there’s a bill to outlaw public profanity. Well, fuck.

Preemption

In Nebraska, cities can’t pass stricter gun laws than the state.

More Kent Williams on Guns

Wants to require a license for gun possession? No support for concealed carry either.

Via reader M.

And his website says he’s involved with NRA.

SHOT Show Blogging

Bitter: I’m not going to SHOT, but I’m going to cover it anyway. How, you ask? Easy, I’m going to focus on new media opportunities taken and missed by SHOT organizers, SHOT participants, and the firearms/hunting community as a whole.

New Stuff From CrimsonTrace

Coming to SHOT, a Lasergrip for Glocks that has an on/off switch. More here.

And a handy VFG with light and laser. More on that here.

Because now, you suck a little less

And we don’t hate you quite as much.

The Firearm Blog reports that H&K is going to produce a civilian version of their HK416 and HK417 rifles. Called the H&K MR556 and MR762.

Maybe they realized they were missing out on some major bling with the coming ascension? I dunno.

But HK fan boys can rejoice.

A guy thing

Riverdog on flashlight addiction: The ladies have their little pinch-purse lights, but it is an addiction with many men.

He’s not a fan of weapon lights. I actually have a second Surefire G2 Nitrolon on my AR-15. It’s handy and adds negligible weight.

Glockity

Ya know, I’d read all about this report but never saw it. Torture testing a Glock 21.

Gun trafficking

In New Jersey, it’s all Pennsylvania’s fault as a whopping 15% of NJ crime guns come from PA. So says an article blaming other state’s lax gun laws for NJ’s crime problem. No mention that the top source for NJ crime guns is actually, err, NJ. At least, in the latest info I found. It’s always a trend to blame someone else for your own failures. NY does, Mexico does it, MA does it.

Also:

To help stanch that flow, New Jersey will become the first state in the nation later this month to directly partner with federal firearms officials in pursuing gun traffickers across state borders.

“We’re going to start knocking on doors at the end of January,” said state police Detective Sgt. Eric Barlow.

NRA caves on holder?

Over at Hotair:

The NRA will not use the confirmation vote on Eric Holder as a score for its national rankings this year, limiting their opposition to the nominee for Attorney General to a letter to members. Erick calls this a “pitiful sellout”, but it looks more like a nod to reality

Pretty much. It is the political reality that Holder will be the AG.

Gun Porn

Full auto Ruger.

Good for the gun industry

Not only Employee of the Month, but Salesman of the Year.

Kent Williams on Guns

After all the hubbub yesterday regarding the shenanigans in the Tennessee House, Williams gets his interview on:

Q: You said some bills bottled up for years will come to the floor? Will that include the abortion resolution?

Williams: Yes. Abolutely, that’ll be the No. 1 priority. That will come to the floor, I can assure you of that.

Q: What else?

Williams: Some of the gun bills that have been killed over the years. There won’t be any committees loaded down to kill legislation. That’s not going to happen.

Q: So who’s in control, Republicans or Democrats?

Williams: Republicans are in control. 50 to 49.

Doesn’t sound too much like a Naifeh puppet if you ask me. Naifeh was the one killing all the pro-gun bills.

Resistance

Not only not futile but the most effective means of deterring an attack.

More guns, less crime

Debunking Ayres and Donohue.

The laws everyone wanted

First, they came for the sex offenders . . .

Dumb idea goes down

Turns out, people don’t like everyone looking over their shoulder and a lack of some semblance of privacy.

Summing it up

Gun banners can’t accept that we like guns.

Well, yeah.

New addition

Congrats to Laurel.

Still more on gun sales

Up in Florida.

And not just in gun friendly states.

Makes me wonder who’s next

Mike Sullivan has resigned as head of the ATF. Good. But before getting too excited, bear in mind who will be appointing his successor.

Going to err coming back from Cali

State’s broke. People can’t afford it. Taxes too high. Folks are leaving Cali. Again.

Good

Looks like NRA is getting into sanctioning Tactical Multi-Gun Competitions.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
