I don’t know if taking AA batteries is so great, don’t they have a greater self-discharge rate? You can leave those little CR-123 batteries alone for *years* and they still work, can’t beat that…

May I recommend the window-breaker end cap for Maglight and other flashlights, seen at SHOT Show by The Pretty Pistolera and reported on her blog ( ), with the company website at: http://www.bustacap.net
The website name literally describes the product, as well as being amusing. And if you buy something from them, your receipt is for “junk” rather than a specific item….
The videos are very interesting, too, of car windows being opened immediately (well, at least catastrophically) using their products.

Steve, it’s a tradeoff. CR124a batteries have much greater output. AA batteries are cheaper and available anywhere. I decided I wanted battery commonality and availability more than high output. YMMV.
