I find “buy the one you like” to be good advice, though I originally heard it in reference to flutes. Yeah, concert flutes, you know, made of silver and gold, with tone holes, hinges and keys and pads and stuff. It works equally well with guns and calibers.
I once had an ex cop from LA (the type of guy some people would have us believe we should heed in such matters, especially the guy I was talking with) tell me that his .45 ACP could penetrate an engine block. Now that’s stopping powder, Baby (I’ll assume we were talking about those little Cox engines used in cheap model airplanes, but I never received confirmationon that).
