The ones who oppose gun rights and also have carry permits could be an indicator that they consider carrying the means of slef-defense as a privilige to be granted by government rather than a right to be protected by government.
In the past,prior to the 1994 “shall issue” law, permits were arbitrary and PERMITTED only to public officials or the influential and well-connected. It could be that’s something to which some government officials with them would like to regress.

Not surprisingly, a lot of the ones who oppose gun rights also have carry permits.
