Gun Law Committee
The Senate Judiciary Committee will form an ad hoc committee to study all of the gun bills that have been filed in the General Assembly this year, Chairwoman Mae Beavers said at the start of a hearing Wednesday.
Sen. Mike Faulk, R-Kingsport, Sen. Doug Overbey, R-Maryville, and Sen. Doug Jackson, D-Dickson, were appointed to the committee.
I’ve met Mike Faulk and he’s a pro-gun guy. He, when contemplating running, actually came to one of our blogger events. Nice guy. Overbey is my state senator and I did not support him because during his tenure in the house, he voted for Naifeh as speaker. His opponent, Finney, received the NRA endorsement. I have no idea where he stands on gun issues, other than his older website said he supported the second amendment.
