Unpossible

It’s illegal to carry a gun in DC.

And Tam: Any bets on this rifle turning up down there? Clearly we need to close the Squad Car Loophole.

And you can’t carry guns into the sheriff’s department.

According to the article, it was from Dallas SWAT.

I wonder if this incident will be on the next episode of their show?

  2. JKB Says:

About an hour before that, police said, officers found a handgun and several rounds of ammunition during a traffic stop in the 700 block of Eighth Street NW. Police said they charged someone with carrying a pistol without a license.

I realize this is just bad journalism but it is still kind of creepy The DC police charged someone, to be named later, with carrying a pistol. Very 1984.

  3. JKB Says:

In the Grand Prairie case, police said that a thief might be responsible but that it’s also possible that the trunk bounced open and the rifle flew out while the officer was driving.

Does anyone think it is a good idea not secure a select-fire Colt M-16 so that it can’t fly out of your trunk if you hit a bump in the road? Forget that it is a controlled weapon, the cost alone would prompt some attempt to protect the gun.

I bet this kind of thing happens all the time. If you wanted to steal a prohibited item, what better place is there to look than in a cop car? There can’t possibly be an easier way to steal a full-auto weapon.

  5. Huck Says:

Does anyone acually believe that the rifle could’ve “bounced” out of the trunk? If it bounced anywhere it was probably into the hands of someone with mucho deniro.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
