Printing
In TN, there’s a push to end taking prints as part of the gun buying process. Legislators say, basically, that the police don’t use the prints. Honestly, after you are printed the first time, I can see no need to be printed again. How many copies of my prints are needed?
Of course, I think the initial fingerprinting is unnecessary since it is, apparently, not used at all.

(Stupid blockquote…. please delete previous comment!)
If you are a sovereign citizen, why do your public servants fingerprint you to begin with?
It’s almost worse here in Texas though, we get fingerprinted for the drivers license…. I guess we’re all pre-criminals.

We have the same issue here in Virginia. The State Police have testified in committee that they don’t use the prints for the background checks. We successfully got rid of them for permit renewals, but some localities still require prints for an initial permit, even though it’s just a waste of time and money.
Funny how it’s only the most anti-gun places that require them. I think it’s just because they see it as one more way to make the process complicated and inconvenient, thereby deterring some from bothering with it.

Wait, what? They finger print you to buy a firearm???
And I thought it was insane to get finger printed to get a carry permit in Texas.

Oh…hey…I completely blew by that too. There’s no fingerprinting for BUYING a gun in Virginia, only for a permit to carry one concealed.
You have to get fingerprinted just to BUY a gun in TN?
